Why is your meat so good?

With over 60 years experience, A lL Martin & Son has used its knowledge to create this unique and quality service of delivering the finest meat direct to your own home. We pride ourselves on not only the quality of our fresh meat, but also on the expertise of our skilled butchers, enabling you to taste nothing less than the finest British meat.

All our products are sourced from local traditional suppliers in order to satisfy the high demands of our customers. Unlike some of our competitors, all of our chickens are naturally bred. To maintain our high quality promise, we also do not offer poultry that has been tampered with in any way, for example they have not had water added to the meat content. Our Devon beef is sourced form local Farmers, some of whom we have known for over 30 years. Our butchers are highly skilled and pay great attention to detail so that you receive products that are not only well presented, but cut and trimmed so that they cook beautifully.

When will I receive my order?

Once you have placed an order with us you will be given an expected delivery day. Product is shipped on a 24 hour courier. Therefore any orders placed will be dispatched the following moring, and will arrrive with you the day after.

Day order placed Delivery Day
Monday Wednesday by 5pm
Tuesaday Thursday by 5pm
Wednesday Friday by 5pm
Thrusday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday Tuesday 5pm

Orders placed on a Thursday morning, by phone, can be delivered on the Friday. This is dependant on the time the order is placed and the type of meat required. The butcher will be able to give you a definitive answer there and then as to the stock levels in the shop at the time of your call. Call Andy or Phil Martin on 01647 432461.

How will my order be delivered?

To ensure reliability and punctuality, all of our deliveries will be made by courier. All of the boxes must be signed for and therefore it is your responsibility for somebody to be at the address in order to accept delivery. There is an option however to write in specific delivery instructions (such as explaining a safe place to leave the goods should nobody be in). WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND THIS. If this is the case then the courier driver will be informed of the relevant information.

How is my order packaged?

In order to maintain the highest quality all our products, unless stated otherwise, are supplied vacuum packed. This will ensure that the product which you have purchased will arrive as fresh as it was when it was prepared. Individual items will be labeled with an A. L. Martin & Son Label, indicating the product descriptions and the best before date.

Insulated protective packaging is then sealed around the products which are then put into a specifically designed polystyrene box. These boxes are the safest and best way to deliver your meat order as they are light, water-resistant, hygienic, provide superb thermal insulation and offer easy, quick and safe handling. To maintain the cool temperature throughout transportation, each package has a state of the art frozen gel cooling pack which ensures the products remain at the correct temperature for at least 48 hours.

What is the best way to cook my meat?

Whilst there is no precise way to cook any piece of meat, A. L. martin & Son recommends that to fully appreciate the full flavour of our products, they should not be overcooked. Take time to prepare your meals, open the packaging and allow the meat to rest before cooking. This can be done simply by storing at room temperature on a plate and covering it with foil. If this not done it could result in the meat being slightly tougher than if it was left to rest. Cooking the meat is then a matter of preference.
